Being the tight-wad I am, I tend to do a fair bit of research before buying makeup to make sure my hard-earned cash is well spent on stuff I'm actually going to like. That being said, every now and then I end up with a little collection of unused products which range from a wee bit disappointing to downright crap. And today I thought I'd share some.

I've been blessed with very pink skin which stubbornly shines through my makeup so I tend to snap up anything with the words 'anti redness' slapped across it. So, the No7 Colour Calming Primer for redness sounded right up my street. It's a rather shocking green paste that promises to reduce redness as well as keeping your makeup in place all day. The thing is, it just doesn't do anything. It makes no difference to my Rudolph complexion and does nothing for the longevity of my makeup either.

While on my quest for The Perfect Eyeliner, I decided to give the L'Oreal Super Liner Perfect Slim a whirl because I'd heard some pretty good things. But it just didn't work for me. The tip was nice and skinny which meant my wings were fiercely sharp but it smudged and faded like nobody's business. By the end of the day, I'd lost half my cat eye and what was left was grey and patchy. I don't know if I've just got abnormally oily eyelids or something (gross, I know) but it just didn't stay.

Finally, I'd bought the Rimmel Professional Eyebrow Pencil in a panicked fluster when I realised my beloved Soap and Glory one was out of stock and couldn't bare the horror of being eyebrowless until it reappeared. The pencil itself wasn't too bad, it wasn't great but for the price I wasn't complaining. It was just the colour that I hated, despite being 'dark brown' it was way too light and so, so red. I can't imagine anyone actually has eyebrows that colour.

Sorry about the lack of positivity in this post but I like to throw in a rant every now and then to keep it real.
