It's not that I love bashing products but I do really like writing and reading these kind of posts. There's a tendency for bloggers to only talk about products they love but I think it's just as helpful, maybe even more helpful, to mention the stuff that's a lil bit crap as well.

I feel bad that there's a couple of NYX products in here because I love NYX but I buy a lot from them so naturally I'm going to come across a few misses amongst the hits. The first of which is the Lip Lingerie in Teddy. I was so excited when I saw this line was coming to the UK - y'all know I love liquid lipsticks, especially nudes and browns, so these looked right up my street. But, alas, this colour is so patchy on me and takes a good few layers to get an even coverage. And because it takes so many layers to build up, it ends up feeling uncomfortable and crumbly and so drying. I know liquid lipsticks are always pretty drying, I don't mind that, but this is next level. It doesn't help that the wand is pretty big and holds way too much product so I just end up with a goopy mess.

The other NYX product I want to mention is the Tame and Frame Tinted Brow Pomade. I am a brow pencil gal through and through but all the hype around the Anastasia Beverly Hill Dip Brow Pomade persuaded me to branch out. I didn't want to dive straight in with the (rather expensive) ABH option so I went for NYX's offering. Unfortunately, I just don't get how you're supposed to get clean, sculpted brows with this. I had to go over my brow so many times to get the colour strong enough and the formula made it so difficult to get smooth lines. It took me twice as long to do my brows with this than it does with my trusty pencil and they still ended up messy and ugly.

The Maybelline Lash Sensational Mascara is hands down the best mascara I've ever used (if anyone knows a cruelty free dupe hit me up). So when it was sold out the other day in Boots, I grabbed the Lash Sensational Luscious Mascara assuming it would be just as great, if not better. Spoiler alert: IT'S NOT. The wand is an entirely different shape and completely useless at separating lashes and the formula is much wetter than the original. This combination results in the clumpiest, messiest mascara I've ever used. It seriously looks like I have about 3 lashes on each eye when I use this because they clump together so badly. I actually dislike this mascara so much that I fished out the original Lash Sensational from my bin and swapped the wands to make this one vaguely usable.

I love Elegant Touch glue-on nails. I'm literally wearing a set as I type this and very much enjoying the clacking sound they're making on my keyboard. I've used a fair few different colours and never had any problems but Next Stop New York are awful. I didn't notice when I bought them but this design has 'new super-flex technology' which supposedly means the nails bend to fit the shape of your natural nails better and are more comfortable to wear. In reality, they're just really thin and snap within hours. I ended up ditching them after only a day because half of them had broken.
